Ecuador is located on the equatorial line in South America. Through the country crosses the Cordillera de los Andes which makes Ecuador the only country in the world in the equatorial line with heights of 0 meters above sea level at 6100 meters above sea level. This variety of altitudes in the equatorial zone means that there are all kinds of climates and ecosystems from beautiful beaches and arid areas to vegetations where almost any agricultural product can be produced. In addition to this, Ecuador has part of the great Amazon where uncontacted Indigenous communities live. Finally, the Galapagos Islands or enchanted islands are a natural work of art where the beauty of the pacific islands fuses with a great amount of animal life. This is how Ecuador, being a small and compact country, can visit almost any ecosystem without traveling long distances.
