Ilinizas is an old volcano south of Quito. It was two peaks North and South. This daytrip will take you to the north peak reaching 5126m / 16817 feet.
We will leave Quito at 7AM in a private transportation until th parking zone called "la virgen" at 3900 meter hight. Then we will need 6 hours walking with trekking equipment to reach the summit at 5150 m. In case there is snow we will use crampons otherwise helmet and harness will be enough. After the summit, we will need around 3 hours to go back to the parking zone and then back to Quito for a deserve rest.
