The Toachi River Canyon is a viewpoint towards a canyon of the Toachi River. This canyon has been produced by the eruptions of the Quilotoa volcano giving an expectacular view from the highest point of the canyon. It is a stopping point before reaching Quilotoa on most tours. In its interior it crosses with a fall of more than 100 meters the Toachi river is crossed that goes towards the Ecuadorian coast.
Latacunga is the starting point. However, you can take a daytrip ($ 50- $ 90) from Quito to the Quilotoa in the travel agencies of La Mariscal that includes transportation, food and bilingual guide and stop at the canyon.
BY BUS:
Route 1: From Latacunga to Zumbahua ($ 2, 2.5 hours). There are buses every 30 min from the Latacunga terminal 5am - 7pm. From Zumbahua you can rent vans or taxis for ($ 2, 10 min) or take a bus on the way.
