Sumaco Galeras National park
The Park consists in 2054km2 of forest, hidden caves and cliffs. The Sumaco volcano (3732 m) is located 27 km north of the road joining the cities of Coca and Tena. If you wish to reach the summit, you will need to hire a guide given that the trails are not well defined. The walk takes from 5 to 6 days.
The road el Chaco-Baeza-Reventador (E45) surrounds the west side of the Park; while the Jondachi-Loreto-Coca road (E20) surrounds the Park on the south side. Guides can be found in the town of Pacto Sumaco (E20 between Jondachi and Loreto)
