Saraguro city

LOJA-SARAGURO

                                                Saraguro (4000 inhabitants, 2500 masl) is a very proud community in southern Ecuador. With their unique clothes, both men and women wear their typical costume throughout the year. Especially notable is the Sunday fair where the Saraguros come to sell, impeccable with their clothes, the products of their lands. There is an ATM and community tourism organizations.

Saraguro is full of outdoor outings and you can walk on foot in most cases. Local buses can be taken in front of the cathedral. The Baños del Inka north of the city has waterfalls and a rock formation. Additionally, for those who love hiking, there is the Washapamba protected forest to the south of the city. There are also the lagoons of Saraguro where women make tupus and textiles. In the community of Tuncarta the famous hats of Saraguro are made.
