The Church of Santo Domingo de Guzmán, also called the Church of San Vicente is a Catholic temple of greater relevance within the city of Guayaquil. It was created in 1548 by the Order of Preachers (Dominicans) established in the city, in the sector that formerly called Old City. The current infrastructure is the fifth building of the temple, which has been destroyed pirate attacks in colonial times and fires throughout the history of Guayaquil. It is the oldest Catholic temple in the city.
