This population was the pioneer in offering an option to a Quito whose growth was destined to be made only towards its north and south ends. It soon became a satellite city with all the public, commercial and tourist services, optimal in quality and quantity. Thus, the zone had given a total turn of what it was in times of yesteryear: The favorite place for the recreation and the rest of the Quito families, appreciated for its temperate climate and pure air, and the presence of thermal waters. Very crowded Spas were established here, such as El Tingo and La Merced, distraction options and vacation villas.
