Lake San Pablo is one of the most beautiful tourist places in the province of Imbabura, 4 km west of the city of Otavalo and 2670 meters above sea level. San Pablo Lake is an ecosystem that includes some representative species such as: herons, ducks, some amphibians and several aquatic plants. It is also at the foot of the Imbabura Volcano, from which flows the water that is discharged by the Peguche Waterfall.

This lagoon is 35m deep on the sides and 48m deep in the center, 7km2 of approximate surface and 583 hectares approximately
WATER QUALITY
The lake is in the process of eutrophication so it is cloudy with a temperature of 11ºC.
VARIOUS ACTIVITIES
On the lake you can take boat rides, water skiing, jet skiing, kayaking and swimming. It is very famous the sport competition of the crossing of San Pablo Lake that takes place every September on the occasion of the festivities of Yamor. The totora of the place is used by the association SISA to develop crafts and furniture
If you are coming from Quito: through the right entrance of Gonzáles Suárez to go through the communities of San Pablo and Araque. It is the fastest way to reach the Araque Water Park.
If you come from Otavalo or Ibarra: by the left entrance of Eugenio Espejo, here you will reach the old pier and continue on the road, to several communities such as Camuendo, Compañía and finally Araque.
