The Church of San Francisco, also known as the Church of Our Lady of the Angels, 1 is a Catholic temple of greater relevance within the city of Guayaquil. It was created in 1702 by the Franciscan Order established in the city, which was transferred to the old city from 1693. Initially it was built of wood, however, after the continuous fires suffered by Guayaquil, it had several remodelings until obtaining its current structure. It is the third oldest Catholic temple in the city.
