It is a small town of around a thousand inhabitants that is located about 34 kilometers north of Guaranda surrounded by paramos. Its economy is based on community development where community tourism is valued and executed by locals. Local guides show you (on foot or on horseback) local factories of cheeses, chocolates, mushrooms, nougat, salamis and clothes.
From Guaranda buses depart at 11am, 1pm and 3pm ($ 0.25, 1 hour)
