SANTA ELENA-SANTA ELENA

The importance of real Alto in the peninsula of Santa Elena lies mainly because it allowed to identify one of the oldest settlements in the continent. Real Alto offers a review of the urban logic of the inhabitants of the peninsula, which dates back approximately eight thousand years ago.

In real alto, samples of the settlement of 80 houses were found. There is also a laboratory and a dining room. The host is Adam Lindao, a cartoon character that shows the history of the area.

There is evidence of buildings of houses arranged around a central square and the center of the square is cut by two mounds of land. The dwellings had elliptical shape of 12 m long by 8 m wide.

It is estimated that a thousand people depended on an economy in which agriculture and sea resources were combined. At this time the handicraft of the weaving appeared with the use of the Loom, the work in Shell and the sculpture in clay.
