Quito old town, declared Cultural Patrimony of the Humanity in 1978. Colonial churches, narrow streets, squares, pools and several corners consecrated to the tradition of a mestizo city are offered at every step.
It has around 130 monumental buildings (housing a great diversity of pictorial and sculptural art, mainly of a religious nature inspired by a multifaceted range of schools and styles) and five thousand properties registered in the municipal inventory of heritage assets.
