Pununo ancient tree
(50 meters hight, FREE)
The ancient Pununo tree is a ceibo tree with more than 50 meters hight and according to locals it is necessary around 27 men to hug the tree with open arms. It is located 3Km from Misahualli near a small village called Pununo.
It is estimated it has 400 years old. Its roots are more than one meter thick. the tree is the home of hundred of animals, insects, birds and other plants.
In order to reach the ancient tree, it is necessary to go from Misahualli to Pununo (3Km; 15min walking; bus $0.3, 10 min). It is recommended to walk because the bus has few schedules. In Pununo, you should cross the only bridge (100 meters) towards a third order road. Continue for 200 meters more and you will see the tree in your right. There is a pathway some 50 meters ahead where you can enter (feel free to go, no fee).
