Punta Ballena and Playa Paraiso beaches - Matal
Punta Ballena or Whale Pit is located 9 km western from Jama and north of Puerto Cabuyal in Manabi. At the Pit there is a small 80m-high hill crowned with a lighthouse. The location allows to enjoy the landscape views and whale watching between June and July. This is also the start point of the Paradise Beach.
Once in Jama, the only possibility to reach the pit is by car, either a taxi ride or private vehicle.
