Pululahua geological reserve
- Calle Eduardo Kingman Oe12-401 y Av. Manuel Córdova Galarza (sector Ventanillas, dentro de la reserva). Calacalí. Provincia de Pichincha.
Pululahua is an isolated and quiet space near the city of Quito. Every afternoon clouds arrive loaded with moisture from the Pacific coast and hide under a white mantle the life that exists in this caldera. It is the only protected area in the country that has the category of "Geobotanical Reserve". This says a lot about its reason for being since its geology and its vulcanological history are very particular. Apart from the richness of the flora that grows on slopes and ravines, the reserve protects something unique in the world: a volcanic caldera inhabited near the middle of the world. Undoubtedly, a place where the energy of the earth is felt in each rock and in each cloud that comes and goes from the Pululahua.
Entry through Windows. On the road Quito - Calacalí. 6 kilometers from the Monument to the Middle of the World, in the sector of Caspigasí (there is a gas station in the sector), it deviates to the right and continues 1.2 kilometers to the viewpoint.
