Pineapple known as "the Orchid of the Andes", due to the great variety of wild orchids found in this region of southern Ecuador, pineapples is a very nice and quiet colonial city.
Pineapples has become a center of tourist attraction and commercial, is a strategic geographical point.
It is a peculiar and particular area, with a variety of orchids that place it preferentially in the country turning this species into its symbol, from where it takes its name the city. You can visit pineapples in the province of El Oro, to observe 30 species of hummingbirds and parakeets, you can visit the cloud Forest of Buenaventura.
From Quito: In the terrestrial terminal Quitumbe, there are two cooperatives: the City of Pineapples and TAC.
From Guayaquil: Pineapples has the transport service of the TAC cooperatives and the city of pineapples, which take turns every 30 minutes, already in the city to move to the different parishes or tourist places can be made by renting vans, taxis or Chivas.
