Pitt Point - Galapagos
Punta Pitt is located at the north end of San Cristobal Island and its main attraction is the walking paths for the observation of seabirds, admiration of the geological landscape of the Galapagos Islands and snorkeling in places of abundant and colorful marine life. In addition, it is possible to spot a small colony of red-footed boobies as well as frigates and pelicans. The beach is a particular color of volcanic formation and small crystals that shine with sunlight. Under the sea it is possible to recognize several species of fish as well as very playful sea lions.
Due to the strong equatorial sun it is recommended to use sunscreen, wear a cap or hat and bring water to hydrate. In addition, it is advised to bring a light jacket in case there is wind while sailing.
To get to Punta Pitt it is necessary to hire a navigable tour in a local agency. The tour includes transportation, naturalist guide, lunch, drinks, snacks, towels, snorkeling equipment.
This tour does not have very frequent departures. Therefore, it is necessary to ask the agency beforehand about availability to avoid any misunderstanding.
