Otavalo museum El Obraje

IMBABURA-OTAVALO

The visit to the museum allows to know all about the process that is carried out with the sheep wool for the manufacture of ponchos and other textiles typical of Otavalo.

This museum is a wide variety of tools that were used by indigenous weavers for four centuries. These objects were used in the Obrajes, in the 17th and 18th centuries and part of the 19th.

The demonstration is performed by an indigenous Otavalo, who also provides information about their ancestral community.
