GUAYAS-GUAYAQUIL

The museum inaugurated on October 9th, 2006, occupies the old house of Augustus Dillon Valdez, which is a patrimonial asset of great architectural value. It emerged as an initiative of the national Navy, in the face of the need to present to the citizens, an account of the development and growth of the Ecuadorian naval force, from the Battle of Jambelí, which also includes the Navy Park, the sailor's square and the Naval library. The museum has nine halls that have the names of heroes and forgers of naval history as the extinct captain Rafael Morán Valverde, who fought in the Battle of Jambelí commanding the gunboat Calderón.
