(50 meters high, 1380 msl)
The Magic waterfall is located in the national park Cayambe - Coca. It is in a private property so they charge you $1 per person to get in.
This waterfall is formed by the falling of Malo River. However, before it falls, there is a narrow way which produce a high velocity. Thus, the water forms a giant cloud of dust while it falls. In order to reach the bottom of the waterfall you need to walk around 1.5Km from the main road or drive from the highway 1Km and hike 500 meters (5min).
In the entrance you can rent a buoy which you can use to ride the ride downstream from the bottom of the waterfall to the entrance (30min downstream) The ride is a relaxing experience to admire the nature of the place. You can do a day-trip from Quito or Baeza and visit the Magic waterfall, San Rafael Waterfall (10Km east) and Tayos cave (18Km west).
The nearest place to sleep is EL CHACO (38Km west) and you can find some places to eat around the main way. However, we would recommend to sleep in Baeza or Lago Agrio (Nueva Loja)
