Machala is an Ecuadorian city, capital of the province of El Oro. It is the fourth most important city in the country economically and the second seaport. It is a productive agricultural city, industrial and with a large commercial and banking movement, which is constituted in the economic pole of the Ecuadorian southwest. Its population is mostly devoted to agricultural, industrial and port activity, so it is recognized internationally as the "banana Capital of the world". The city is the political, financial and economic center of the province, and one of the main ones of the country, it houses large cultural, financial, administrative and commercial organisms. It is known as the world capital of bananas, because from there through Puerto Bolívar is exported this precious fruit to all the world. As well as elaborated products, foodstuffs, mining, packaging and reserved. There is also, by means of the port of the city, the importation of vehicles, wood, agricultural products, paper among others.
From Quito: It runs along the Pan-American Highway south to Riobamba, to continue then along the coastal ramp that goes down by Pallatanga and continues by the triumph to Machala, an approximate route of 9 H.
From Guayaquil: The short section is 191 km along the Ruta Duran-Naranjal-El Guabo-Machala, the route takes some 30.
Transport public: They keep connected to the city the cooperatives of transport Panamericana, Occidental, Route orenses, among others that depart from the terrestrial terminals of Guayaquil and Quito Daily.
Taxi: It is one of the best options to travel by Machala if you do not know the city very well.
