Llaber arqueological site

AZUAY-CHORDELEC

                                                The ruins of Llaber, is an enormous archaeological complex that dates from the year 1000 D. c., here we can find colonial vestiges in its architecture. The ruins have terraces and 14 walls of flat stones, which give the shape of a snail or a serpent.

The serpent constitutes a divinity for the Canaris, according to its origin, customs and traditions.

Mounds with terraces and walls of flat stones, with style similar to the fortresses of Cangahua, most of the vestiges are made up of a series of walls up to 7 m high that surround the hill giving the shape of a snail.

For its strategic location, finds and geography was a ceremonial and sacred place for the Canaries.
