Latacunga cathedral

COTOPAXI-LATACUNGA

                                                The building is of Romanesque style, in its interior there is an altar worked in Pumice stone, it possesses artistic works and colonial images; In the tower there is a corrillón, set of bell towers that announce the hours and the eucharists. It is one of the emblematic buildings of the city and represents the obvious symbol of faith of the Latacungueños.

The cathedral was the center of the Augustinian Campaign for indoctrination and evangelization that covered native sites such as: Sigchos and Isinliví, Angamarca, Pangua, Poaló, Cusubamba, Salachí San Agustín del Callus and Barracas.
