                                                The House of Olmedo is one of the most important attractions of the canton, since here Firmño the Treaty of the Virginia between the nationalist forces and the general Juan Jose Flores. The National Institute of Cultural Heritage in exercise of the attributions granted by the law of Cultural heritage, he declared to the Hacienda La Virginia and the House of Olmedo, because in it José Joaquín de Olmedo spent long seasons well belonging to the cultural patrimony of the state, in charge of the House of the culture of the province of the rivers.

To understand better what the house of Olmedo means "a historical and artistic patrimony is the set of three natural or cultural elements, material or immaterial, inherited from the past or created in the present, where a certain group of individuals recognise their hallmarks.

In the House Olmedo and in which the Treaty of the Virginia was signed, between 17 and 18 of June of 1845, with which ended the government of Juan Jose Flores.
