Isla de la Plata beach
The Isla de la Plata (Silver Island) is part of the Machalilla National Park and it is located near the shore of Puerto Lopez in Manabí. The Island is famous for its flora and fauna. It is a very appreciated site for those interested in birdwatching and diving. You can observe blue footed boobies, albatross, rays, dolphins, whales and more. There are very exclusive ecoturistic lodges in the island.
It is possible to book a tour in Puerto Lopez or arrange transportation by boat. The travel takes ca. 1.5 hours.
