The Malecon 2000 is one of the biggest urban redesign projects in South America. It extends for 2,5 Km on the shores of the Guayas river parallel to the Malecon Simon Bolivar Avenue. There are a lot of spots worth visiting, which are safeguarded by police from 7:oo to 24:00. Manu cultural activities take place along the boardwalk, especially in the months of July and October, when Guayaquil celebrate the foundation and independence holidays.
From any point of the city is easy to reach the Malecon. Also taking a taxi is possible.
