The general Cemetery of Guayaquil opened on January 1, 1843, is located in the heart of the city, at the foot of Cerro del Carmen enclosed by a perimeter that initially had the shape of a trapeze, and that by forced growth is not determined.
It is one of the best in Latin America, by the architectural designs from Greco-Roman, neoclassical, baroque, Italian, Spanish, Mudejar, Arabic and Jewish.
Also called "The White City", the general cemetery is full of sculptures carved in marble by Italian artists such as Enrico S.pacciani.
The cemetery has about 20 tickets, not all are open to the public. You can access by Av. Quito, Av Julian Coronel and AV Pedro Menendez
