The spa opened in July 2004, rehabilitated and improved integrally by the city of Guayaquil, occupies an area of 4,000 square meters of beaches and 3,500 square meters of Malecon. Since its inauguration, the Beach del Guasmo, has become a recreation site, not only of residents of the cooperatives close to this sector of the city, but of everyone who looks for fun and rest. It is estimated that at weekends there are about 1,500 people, number that increases in the holidays.
Developed in an area of 7,000 square meters, it has a thin layer of sand of 50 cm, besides a wharf for low draught boats, pergolas, stands, Agoras, green areas. It has fifteen food stores that sell a variety of typical dishes. Bathrooms, dressing rooms, lighting, viewpoints, and a nursing area.
