(10 meter waterfall, canon and lagoon)
Grand Canyon in Ecuador is a rock formation of around 10 meters high with a waterfall and a beautiful natural lagoon in the middle of the jungle entrance. The cliff lagoon is part of a private property and the entrance cost is $2 pp. The owners offer a local guide to maximum three people ($10, 2-4 hours, negotiable). From the last part of the road, there are two ways to go there, by walking around 30 min or by going downstream by the river. This second option is a real adventure. It is done with ropes downstream the river and you need a local guide for this option.
If you decide to go walking, you need to walk down around 30 min until you reach a bridge. Before the bridge there is a small pathway left that follows up a small river. You need to continue this pathway and cross two times the small river in order to reach the lagoon. Once in the lagoon you can take a bath and you can climb the rock with a wood stair and jump to the water from the top of the cliff. There are no signs but there is a clear pathway you can keep going until the bridge. The pathway is muddy so you would prefer to have rain boots and repellent for mosquitos.
