Located south of the La Mariscal neighborhood (if you go from north to south), this park becomes a large craft market during the weekend. Local artists exhibit their works (paintings, especially) and crafts in search of buyers. The Ejido is very crowded, especially because of the large number of offices that surrounds it. If you are lucky, you will be able to witness one of the many street humor shows or a game of coconuts, a traditional game from Quito practiced almost exclusively by seniors.
During the weekends you can buy works of art, silver jewelery, ponchos, jackets, vests, among other autochthonous novelties.
Volleyball matches are also played here that attract the attention of the public, but no more than the traditional popular games of coconuts. The objective is to take out large balls of metal (the "coconuts") from inside a circle drawn on the ground and eliminate from a "pepo" (blow) to the adversaries.
It is recommended to tourists not to cross the park at night.
Take the Colón Camal bus and get off at Tarqui street or take the trolebus and get off at the El Ejido stop.
