It is one of the most important sites of the reserve due to the quantity of freshwater birds that inhabit the site. The ecosystem of the lagoon is different from that found in coastal mangroves, typical of more salty waters; The visit to La Laguna is an opportunity to compare the differences between a dry wooded environment and the riverside forests. In the lagoon there is also the colony of Canclones, the emblematic bird of the reserve.
