El Boliche - Cotopaxi National Park

COTOPAXI-LATACUNGA

It is next to Cotopaxi National Park. The bowling alley is known for its planting of pines and cypresses, covering 200 hectares and has almost completely replaced the moor. The first trees were sown in 1928 in what was the Hacienda Romerillos, with the idea of recovering eroded soils and "reforesting" the Moor. There were other times: today it is known that these plantations affect the soils and biodiversity of this ecosystem, and that the moor does not need to be filled with trees.

Next to this area is the station "El Bowling" of the railway Company of Ecuador and, thanks to this, every weekend hundreds of visitors arrive to visit the attractions offered by this protected area.
