Diving in Bartolomé - Gordon rocks - Seymour - Daphne - Beagle - Mosquera - Galapagos
GALAPAGOS-SANTA CRUZ
All these sites are known worldwide as diving and snorkeling destinations. In all of them, visitors can observe Galapagos marine species such as sharks, sea lions, marine iguanas, whales, manta rays, penguins, cormorants, sea turtles and a variety of fish.
For those who like diving it is necessary that they have their license up to date. They should also keep in mind that there are sites that require more logged experience than others depending on the current and depth.
In the case of Bartolome, there is also a path that takes tourists from the beach to a viewpoint. This landscape is one of the most emblematic of Galapagos.
The only way to access these sites is to hire a daily tour at a local agency. The tour can vary between USD 100 and USD 200 depending on the number of sites visited, the number of dives and the company. Visitors should keep in mind that certain destinations are visited only on specific days of the week. Hence, it is recommended to plan and book the tour in advance. All tours include transportation from Puerto Ayora to the Itabaca Canal from where most of the tours depart, guide, diving or snorkeling equipment and lunch. These tours usually take a whole day.
RECOMMENDATIONS
It is recommended to bring water and something to eat. Due to the strong equatorial sun we recommend the use of sunscreen and hat, and wear a light jacket. Finally, it is recommended to follow the instructions of the captain of the boat and the naturalist guide.
