Cuicocha lagoon

It is within the Cotacachi-Cayapas Ecological Reserve and is the most visited site of the same because of its good accessibility. This lagoon is known as Laguna de los Dioses or Tsui - Cocha and is of crater origin.
The lagoon has two islets in the middle fruit of the last explosion of the colossus. During the boat tour that the inhabitants of the area offer to tourists, you can check the volcanic origin of these waters. The bubbles reveal the presence of sulfur at the base of the lagoon, located 200 meters deep.

If you do not have your own vehicle, you must first arrive at the small town of Quiroga. From the terminal of Otavalo, from Ibarra or from the town of Cotacachi, frequent buses leave for Quiroga (US $ 0.25). From Quiroga there are vans that travel 11 km to the visitor center of the lagoon for $ 4 (the full truck). If you go during the weekend and preferably in the morning you can easily find other people to share the trip.
