CHIMBORAZO-COLTA

                                                Called "Kultacucha" in the Quechua language, it is located around 24Km south of Riobamba and is the Colta lagoon. The main road divides the indigenous town of Colta to the west and the lagoon of Colta to the east. It is a reserve of flora and fauna that houses the traditionally known "totora". This gold colored plant is used by indigenous communities to make baskets and mats.
You can walk around the lagoon in about two hours accompanied by the colossal Chimborazo volcano in the landscape.
