In Civic Square are the monuments of major historical importance, that are preserved from the previous Malecon as they are: Monument of the Hemicycle of the roundabout which is the most representative of the city of Guayaquil and commemorates the meeting of the Liberators Simón Bolívar and San Martín, which took place in this city on July 25, 1822.
The Moorish tower is another of the buildings that is considered an icon of Guayaquil and has been highlighted with a scenic framework created to enhance its importance
