Chical petroglyphs

CARCHI-TULCAN

Chical occupies a vast plain of approximately 500 hectares, with soft slopes in the areas crossed by rivers. It is framed between the river Mayasquer or San Juan and the foothills of the Cordillera de Quinllul. The rivers in this sector are rich in fish like catfish and mullet.

The landscape is a combination of subtropical vegetation with esplanades rich in archaeological vestiges and crystalline rivers of great scenic beauty. In this sector, the Aborigines built a channel with stone to wash gold, which despite the lush vegetation that covers the environment, the channel remains unchanged.
