The Ceibo is an iconic tree of San Cristóbal. This traditional site is located in the parish of El Progreso. On the highest part of this centenary tree a small house was built using only recycled material. Visitors can explore this attraction, walk its suspension bridge, climb the wide trunk of the tree and discover a room hidden among its roots.
RECOMMENDATIONS
It is recommended to bring a light jacket and cap or hat since the climate in the upper part of San Cristóbal can vary from sunny to cloudy and windy. Also, the use of closed and long pants is advised.
To get to the Casa del Ceibo from Puerto Baquerizo Moreno visitors must take a taxi-pickup truck. The tour takes approximately 15 minutes to reach the parish of El Progreso and has a cost from USD 15. Also, it is possible to arrive by bicycle. This journey is almost entirely uphill and takes approximately 45 minutes.
Visitors can usually get to this place as part of the tours to the Laguna del Junco, the Giant Turtle Breeding Center and the Puerto Chino beach.
