Cayambe city Ecuador

PICHINCHA-CAYAMBE

                                                A city located at the foot of the Cayambe volcano, surrounded by fertile cattle lands that have been distinguished by its dairy production. The Cayambis, one of the important seigniories of the North mountain range, knew how to defend their territory before the Inca conquest, joining strategically with the lordship of the Caranquis, their neighbour. It conserves many of its traditions that are manifested in its festivals, being that of San Pedro and San Pablo that most popular roots has. They are typical of the population the biscuits made in wood-oven and the dairy products. The Nevado Cayambe, of perpetual snows, passage of the equatorial line, imposes its presence and continues being for its people symbol of force and life.
