Bahía de Caráquez and San Vicente
The city of Bahia de Caraquez is the administrative capital of the Sucre county in Manabi. A bridge connects the city with San Vicente. The Museum of Bahia de Caraquez and the La Merced Church are popular highlights. Another interest point is the wetland ecosystem of la Segua, declared as a RAMSAR site for the flora and fauna of the area.
The bus drive from Quito takes ca. 8 hours, leaving from the Quitumbe terminal. With car it takes 6.5 hours. From Guayaquil a bus ride of 6 hours is to be expected, leaving from the bus terminal. A car ride will take 5 hours.
