Babahoyo cathedral

Considered as one of the representative images of the city, in which is the image of the Virgen de la Mercedes.
The cathedral church exhibits in its facade a giant mural of mosaics of the image of the Virgin Mother, its construction began in the year of 1957 and I conclude in 1963 year in which the first mass was officiated. The cathedral presents in its façade a huge mural in honor of the Blessed Virgin of La Merced.
In 1969 the blessing of the mural of the Virgen de las Mercedes was realized. The mural was made at the Alberto Dürer School of Painting in Spain. The physical work was in charge of the Spanish construction company, which was numbered from Spain to facilitate its placement.
