"La Dolorosa" caves - Gualaquiza
It is a cave of approximately 250 meters in length, whose entrance is 20 meters wide by 3 meters high, inside the width varies from 10 to 15 meters and high reaches up to 10 meters high. In the interior of the cavern there is a great quantity of stalactites and stalagmites, product of water filtrations by the rock that when mixed with its minerals give place to giant petrified drops of water.
There is a stream that has also formed as a product of the water filtration and the presence of groundwater, this results in the presence of small pools of water through which you can swim through.
At the end of the cave there is a small alley, 100 meters long and 0.50 meters wide, which finally leads to a bell-shaped rock, which makes the place very attractive. In addition, you can observe large numbers of bats that are attached to the rocks.
By car to 10 km via Gualaquiza - San Juan Bosco, then access to the sector La Dolorosa.
